Purchasing beds and mattresses used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to go to a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on various models for feel, comfort, support, and everything else that could offer a good night’s sleep. Sadly, as I’m sure many of us have experienced, even those measures are not guarantees, since no amount of short-term testing can adequately replicate the lives we live on our beds. Apart from spending a third of our days in that space, there’s also the matter of sharing beds with our spouses, children, and pets; there is sleeping, but also playing, cradling, reading, mothers feeding, and so on.
For many years, the really good mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you didn’t have the funds for it, you were stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress that later made you toss and turn at night or gave you back pains. I know, because this was my issue, and before the era of “it’s all on the internet,” there just were not that many alternatives. Given what was available, I didn’t have anyone to vouch for each brand’s quality .
Now, the game has completely changed with the addition of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered right to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name alone doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud has been around for some years, but their 2019 product is what caught my attention. It is a hybrid mattress that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all of the things which make luxury beds — but at a reasonable price range, vacuum-packed into a box and shipped straight to your houses.

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a specific purpose, so I’ll get into detail below.
The whole mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It is soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless sort of pillow-top that provides a cleaner look; but also functions to prevent shifting or losing its original shape like a conventional pillow top. The memory filling is quite compact, which makes it more durable than its dated counterpart. This outer top layer constitutes 1.5 inches of the composition.
The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam that allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This constitutes another 1.5 inches of the mattress.
Body contouring gives the sensation of “sinking” into the mattress, which I have mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which helps in keeping cool on the mattress. For those who, like me, often sleep hot in the course of the night, this is vital. The combination of the ventilated cover and the cooling gel makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. Where Can You Buy DreamCloud Mattress
The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing support and body to the mattress. This is especially important for heavier individuals, to keep from sinking completely into the bed. The moderate firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly leads to body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils underneath.
Under the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to change positions with ease and not feel “stuck.” Their individual pockets make it so they can react independently, reducing motion transfer, which is a consideration for those who share beds. In the same vein, the coils are braced round the borders, strengthening the perimeter of this bed and maximizing the whole space without collapsing. The coils constitute more than half of the bed’s composition at 8 inches.
At the very base of the mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the base.
Ratings by Feature Where Can You Buy DreamCloud Mattress
Now that we know what’s in a DreamCloud, let’s see how all its elements combine in a number of the attributes we look for in a mattress. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to discussions on firmness, freedom, pressure relief, edge support, and motion transfer, since these features are dependent on the individual’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal evaluations, please be aware that I weigh roughly 120 lbs, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.
Firmness — 5 out of 5
I start with this because I have lower back problems, which have been largely due to my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to notice that the mattress had sagged considerably from the center section, and I was sleeping with poor skeletal support.
The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of comfort and support that I am looking for. It’s firm enough to ensure that my spine is not compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I adore.
I reiterate that if you’re larger and heavier than I am, it is possible that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5
Among my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot during the night. I’m a combination sleeper and change between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I tried to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this wasn’t an issue, and I could reposition easily, aided by a gentle bounce.
Pressure Relief — 4 out of 5 Where Can You Buy DreamCloud Mattress
Different body parts exert various amounts of pressure when we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the bed, especially for side sleepers. Being a hybrid , the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently relieve more pressure compared to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils provide the support for my lower back. When I am on my side, it is comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle into the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I do not sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I attempted it; so it can be the opposite in a sense that there wasn’t any pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I am simply not used to that position.
Edge Support — 4 out of 5
Should you make full use of every inch of your bed, you would want to do it without falling off its edges. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be quite good, but also noticed that it was better when lying down instead of when sitting on the edge, which may be attributed to the better distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than in 1 spot.
Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5
Having coils, I was somewhat worried that my dog and I would be bouncing around the mattress at each move we each made during our sleep, disturbing the other. I was pleasantly impressed with how well the top layers cushioned and muffled our movements, even if my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs around 30 kg, so I’m not sure how this could translate to sharing a bed with another adult human, but I am pretty happy about this for my own needs.
Final Remarks and FAQ Where Can You Buy DreamCloud Mattress
It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.
That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Below are some FAQs for those of you with particular concerns.
Who’d enjoy the DreamCloud?
I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specifiedI mostly sleep on my back and side, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who tend to sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those persons who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a fantastic alternative for its plush Eurotop and memory materials that provide the sensation of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I have not had any pains to report.
How do I set up the DreamCloud?
It’ll be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you’re extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’ll be using a frame or foundation, put the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you tear it open. You will not require box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the flooring ). Due to the coils, be ready for some snap as it escapes its own container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adapt to its new space. That’s it!
What is the price range?
Based on the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you’re not in any hurry, you might want to await a promo, which they offer quite frequently on their site.
Is it a great investment? Where Can You Buy DreamCloud Mattress
For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my old fashioned mattress. I estimate I’d have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a good investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it has provided me in the last few weeks, it’s been more than worth the cost.
