Purchasing beds and mattresses used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on different kinds for feel, comfort, support, and everything else that could offer a fantastic night’s sleep. Sadly, as I am sure many people have experienced, even those steps are not guarantees, because no amount of short-term testing can adequately replicate the lives we live on our beds. Apart from spending a third of our days in that space, there’s also the issue of sharing beds with our spouses, kids, and pets; there’s sleeping, but also playing, cradling, studying, mothers feeding, etc.

For many years, the really good mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you didn’t have the funds for it, you were stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress which eventually made you toss and turn at night or gave you back pains. I know, since this was my problem, and before the era of “it’s all on the internet,” there just were not that many options. Given what was available, I didn’t have anyone to vouch for every brand’s quality .

Now, the game has completely changed with the addition of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered directly to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name alone doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud Mattress Is DreamCloud Legit

DreamCloud has been around for some decades, but their 2019 product really caught my attention. It’s a hybrid that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all the things which make luxury beds — but at a reasonable budget, vacuum-packed into a box and shipped straight to your houses.

Components

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a particular purpose, so I will get into detail below.

Cover

The whole mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It’s soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless sort of pillow-top that provides a cleaner look; but also serves to prevent shifting or changing its original shape like a traditional pillow top. The memory filling is quite dense, making it more durable than its obsolete counterpart. This outer top layer constitutes 1.5 inches of the composition.

Memory Gel

The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam which allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This constitutes another 1.5 inches of the mattress.

Body contouring gives the sensation of “sinking” into the bed, which I have mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which helps in keeping cool on the mattress. For those who, like me, often sleep hot in the course of the night, this is essential. The combination of the ventilated cover along with the cooling gel makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. Is DreamCloud Legit

Poly Foam

The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing support and body to the mattress. This is particularly important for heavier people, to keep from sinking entirely into the bed. The medium firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly causes body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils underneath.

Pocketed Coils

Under the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to change positions with ease and not feel “stuck.” Their unique pockets make it so they can move independently, reducing motion transfer, which is a consideration for those who share beds. In exactly the same vein, the coils are braced round the edges, strengthening the perimeter of this bed and maximizing the entire space without collapsing. The coils constitute more than half of the mattress’s composition at 8 inches.

Base Foam

At the very bottom of this mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the base.

Ratings by Feature Is DreamCloud Legit

Now that we know what’s in a DreamCloud, let us see how all its components combine in a number of the attributes we look for in a mattress. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to discussions on stability, mobility, pressure relief, edge support, and movement transfer, because these features are determined by the individual’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal evaluations, please be aware that I weigh roughly 120 pounds, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.

Firmness — 5 out of 5

I start with this because I have lower back problems, which were largely due to my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to observe that the mattress had sagged considerably from the middle section, and I had been sleeping with poor skeletal support.

The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of support and comfort that I’m looking for. It is firm enough to make certain that my spine isn’t compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I love.

I reiterate that if you’re bigger and heavier than I am, it is likely that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5

Among my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot during the night. I’m a combination sleeper and switch between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds which were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I attempted to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this wasn’t an issue, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.

Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 Is DreamCloud Legit

Different body parts exert various amounts of pressure when we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the mattress, especially for side sleepers. Being a hybrid , the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently relieve more pressure compared to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils offer the support for my lower back. When I am on my side, it’s comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle in the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I don’t sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I attempted it; so it can be the reverse in a sense that there was no pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I’m just not used to this position.

Edge Support — 4 out of 5

If you make full use of every inch of your bed, you’d want to do it without rolling off its edges. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be rather good, but also noticed that it was better when lying down instead of when sitting on the edge, which might be due to the better distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than at one spot.

Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5

Having coils, I was a tad worried that my dog and I’d be bouncing around the mattress at every move we each made throughout our sleep, disturbing the other. I was impressed with how well the top layers padded and muffled our moves, even when my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs around 30 kg, so I am not sure how this could translate to sharing a bed with another adult individual, but I’m pretty happy about this for my own needs.

Final Remarks and FAQ Is DreamCloud Legit

It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.

That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Below are some FAQs for those of you with particular concerns.

Who would enjoy the DreamCloud?

I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specified: I mostly sleep on my side and back, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who tend to sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those persons who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a good alternative for its lavish Eurotop and memory materials that give the feeling of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I haven’t had any pains to report.

How do I install the DreamCloud?

It is going to be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you’re extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’re going to be using a bed frame or base, put the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you tear it open. You will not need box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the floor). Because of the coils, be prepared for some snap as it escapes its own container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adapt to its new area. That’s it!

What’s the price range?

Depending on the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you are not in any rush, you may want to wait for a promo, which they provide quite frequently on their website.

Is it a great investment? Is DreamCloud Legit

For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my age-old mattress. I estimate I’d have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a great investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it’s provided me in the last couple of weeks, it has been more than worth the price.
