Purchasing mattresses and beds used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on various models for feel, comfort, support, and everything else which could offer a fantastic night’s sleep. Sadly, as I am sure many people have experienced, even those measures are not guarantees, because no amount of short-term testing can satisfactorily replicate the lives we live on our beds. Aside from spending a third of our days in that area, there is also the issue of sharing beds with our spouses, kids, and pets; there is sleeping, but also playing, cradling, reading, moms feeding, and so on.
For many years, the really good mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you did not have the budget for it, you’re stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress that later made you toss and turn at night or gave back pains. I know, since this was my problem, and before the era of “everything is on the internet,” there just weren’t that many options. Given what was available, I did not have anyone to vouch for every brand’s quality either.
Now, the game has completely changed with the addition of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered right to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name alone doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud has been around for some years, but their 2019 product is what caught my attention. It’s a hybrid that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all of the things that make luxury beds — but at an affordable price range, vacuum-packed into a box and sent straight to your houses.

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a specific purpose, so I will get into detail below.
The entire mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It is soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless sort of pillow-top that gives a cleaner look; but also serves to prevent shifting or losing its original shape like a traditional pillow top. The memory filling is quite compact, making it more durable than its obsolete counterpart. This outer top layer constitutes 1.5 inches of the composition.
The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam that allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This constitutes another 1.5 inches of the mattress.
Body contouring gives the feeling of “sinking” into the mattress, which I’ve mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which helps in keeping cool on the bed. For those who, like me, often sleep hot in the course of the night, this is vital. The combination of the ventilated cover and the cooling makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. How Long Does Shipping Take for DreamCloud Mattress
The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing support and body to the mattress. This is especially important for heavier individuals, to keep from sinking entirely into the bed. The moderate firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly causes body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils beneath.
Under the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to shift positions without difficulty and not feel “stuck.” Their unique pockets make it so they can move independently, reducing motion transfer, which is a consideration for those who share beds. In the same vein, the coils are braced around the edges, strengthening the perimeter of the bed and maximizing the entire space without collapsing. The coils make up more than half of the mattress’s makeup at 8 inches.
At the very base of this mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the base.
Ratings by Feature How Long Does Shipping Take for DreamCloud Mattress
Now that we know what is in a DreamCloud, let us see how all its components combine in some of the attributes we look for in a mattress. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to talks on firmness, freedom, pressure relief, edge support, and movement transfer, because these features are dependent on the person’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal ratings, please note that I weigh roughly 120 pounds, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.
Firmness — 5 out of 5
I start with this because I have lower back problems, which have been largely due to my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to notice that the mattress had sagged considerably in the middle section, and I had been sleeping with poor skeletal support.
The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of support and comfort that I am looking for. It’s firm enough to make certain that my spine isn’t compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I love.
I reiterate that if you’re larger and heavier than I am, it’s likely that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5
One of my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot during the night. I’m a combination sleeper and change between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I attempted to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this was not an issue, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.
Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 How Long Does Shipping Take for DreamCloud Mattress
Different body parts exert different amounts of pressure when we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the bed, particularly for side sleepers. Being a hybrid , the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently alleviate more pressure in comparison to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils offer the support for my lower back. When I’m on my side, it is comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle in the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I don’t sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I tried it; so it may be the reverse in a sense that there was no pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I’m simply not used to this position.
Edge Support — 4 out of 5
Should you make full use of every inch of your mattress, you would want to do it without falling off its edges. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be quite good, but also noticed that it was better when lying down rather than when sitting on the edge, which might be attributed to the more even distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than in one spot.
Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5
Having coils, I was somewhat worried that my dog and I would be bouncing around the mattress at every move we made during our sleep, disturbing the other. I was impressed with how well the top layers padded and muffled our moves, even if my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs about 30 kg, so I’m not sure how this would translate to sharing a bed with another adult individual, but I’m pretty happy about this for my own needs.
Final Remarks and FAQ How Long Does Shipping Take for DreamCloud Mattress
It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.
That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Below are some FAQs for those of you with particular concerns.
Who’d enjoy the DreamCloud?
I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specifiedI mostly sleep on my side and back, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who tend to sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a fantastic alternative for its plush Eurotop and memory substances that give the sensation of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I haven’t had any pains to report.
How do I set up the DreamCloud?
It is going to be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you’re extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’ll be using a frame or foundation, place the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you tear it open. You will not need box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the floor). Due to the coils, be prepared for some snap when it escapes its container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adjust to its new space. That’s it!
What’s the price range?
Depending upon the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you’re not in any rush, you may want to await a promo, which they provide quite frequently on their site.
Is it a good investment? How Long Does Shipping Take for DreamCloud Mattress
For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my age-old mattress. I estimate I would have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a good investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it has provided me in the last couple of weeks, it’s been more than worth the price.
