Dreamcloud Vs Purple 2

Dreamcloud-vs-competition

After years of traveling for work and leisure, and sharing rooms with colleagues and friends, I’ve discovered that even preferences in beds come down to a matter of taste. In this case, taste relies hugely on quality of sleep. So in searching for the bed that’s right for you, it can’t be as straightforward as taking just anyone’s word on which ones are good and which ones are not. You will have to consider your size, your weight, your body type, what position you sleep in, and whether or not you share a bed with a partner, a child, a pet, or some laundry.

I’ve rounded up three of the more affordable but highly rated mattresses that are currently on the market. In my opinion, the DreamCloud beats them in convenience, luxury, and comfort; though I reiterate the value of personal preference.

I’ll start by describing the DreamCloud, then detail its similarities and differences with 3 other brands thereafter.

DreamCloud Description Dreamcloud Vs Purple 2

The DreamCloud is among the first beds-in-boxes, compressed and delivered to your doorstep. It is a 15-inch hybrid , with 5 layers of combination memory materials and coils. Its Euro Top cover is a blend of cashmere and polyester, quilted and reinforced at the edges, giving the bed a snug, seamless, and lavish quality. The gel swirl in its memory foam gives a cooling sensation, even as your body sinks into the surface. The memory technology offers pressure relief by contouring to the parts of the body that protrude into the mattress, particularly the shoulders and hips. The poly foam underneath it acts as the supporting layer, allowing more stability and adequate spinal alignment. Its next layer is 8 inches of coils that provide a bouncy response to touch, increasing mobility for repositioning the body on the surface. The coils are individually wrapped, allowing independent movement. This greatly reduces motion transfer, or the disruption of separate regions of the bed. At the very bottom is a firm foam that acts as a sturdy foundation for the whole mattress.

DreamCloud Vs Saatva

Both the DreamCloud and Saatva are hybrid mattresses that are very similar in characteristics, but differ in subtle ways. For starters, Saatva, though also available online, is not a bed in a box, and is not compressed when delivered. They’ve coils and memory materials in their composition, but their ratios and assembly create some contrast.

Composition Dreamcloud Vs Purple 2

The Saatva is also a hybrid mattress, with a blend of foams and coils. They have 2 variants: an 11.5-inch and a 14.5-inch mattress; but for the purpose of making comparisons with the DreamCloud, I will explain the latter, which is a closer approximate.

Its antibacterial, cotton Euro Top covers a mix of memory substances and wires, to encourage lumbar support and spinal alignment. The following 4 inches of the mattress is constructed of foam-wrapped coils, which compress or spring back based on the pressure exerted. An extra layer of steel coils compose another 7 inches, further supporting the top layers and encouraging durability. All edges of the mattress are reinforced by a foam, to enhance edge support throughout the surface.

Comparison

The biggest differences of the Saatva mattress are the overall height of its coils, as well as the foam perimeter. Their stability is comparable, with DreamCloud allowing a little more sinkage into its Euro Top and memory layers, and Saatva at a slightly firmer medium.

Both have responsive materials that provide good mobility to repositioning sleepers. But if we take note of their composition, bear in mind that Saatva has more coil and less foam. The DreamCloud’s thicker foam layers can suck up more energy, and can therefore muffle individual movements better. This is an important consideration for light sleepers, and the ones that share beds. Saatva’s advantage lies in its solid perimeter support, optimizing each bit of this bed, with no falling at the sides.

Pricing and Perks

Saatva’s prices are $100 cheaper, from their Twin to Queen sizes; but even out with DreamCloud for its King and California Kings. They range between from $799-$1599, with DreamCloud offering discounts on their website more frequently.

Key Takeaways Dreamcloud Vs Purple 2

The DreamCloud includes a more luxurious feel, thanks to its plush, cashmere blend Euro Top, and upper memory layers. The gel-infused memory technology lets you sleep cooler through the evening. The combination of foam gives it more sinkage, which is excellent for back and side sleepers; the latter is given excellent pressure relief for shoulders and hips. It has a perfect balance of comfort and support, and fantastic reduction of movement for co-sleepers.

Saatva is a firmer medium mattress, and naturally boasts of better lumbar alignment. Its firmness is also good for those who sleep on their stomachs, as the top keeps you on the bed without stifling your face. Its edge support, thanks to its all-foam perimeter, has improved stability. This is good for people who use their beds to double as sitting spaces, or tend to dangle over the sides when sleeping.

DreamCloud Vs Nectar

Composition

Contrary to DreamCloud, Nectar is a multi-layer, all-foam mattress. Its design includes several types of foam to serve a variety of functions. At 11 inches tall, its base layer is its thickest component, made of 6 inches of firm but breathable foam. Above that is 3 inches of an adaptive memory foam, made for contouring to the sleeper’s body and relieving pressure from certain points. An inch of what Nectar describes as “semi-open lush foam” is sandwiched between the latter and the upper layer, made of a quilted gel memory foam. The mattress is encased in long-staple cotton and Tencel fabric, which are light and airy materials.

Comparison

Based on the disparity of their composition, you would expect very distinctive features from either mattress. However, that’s not the case with those two. Both have been classified as medium firm, with Nectar being only a notch firmer; despite that, they both have a reasonable amount of sinkage and pressure relief.

The main distinction is DreamCloud’s amount of bounce, providing sleepers more freedom when repositioning. This is thanks to the existence of coils, which is absent from Nectar. Having said that, Nectar’s product gives its sleepers a deeper hug as the range of foams shape to their bodies. This same quality translates to slightly better motion isolation, attributable to its pure foam design.

Prices and Perks

Just about all of Nectar’s costs are almost half DreamCloud’s, save for the King and California King, whose prices continue to be a good $500 cheaper. This may be due to the amount and quality of materials used. Remember that the Nectar is just 11 inches tall, while the DreamCloud is a full 4 inches taller. What you do not pay for in Nectar’s mattress is the feel of DreamCloud’s plush cashmere blend, which really sets it apart as an affordable luxury bed.

Key Takeaways

Off the bat, you can make a choice based on whether you like the feeling of being “in” the mattress or “on” the mattress. Sleepers who prefer to sleep tight and cozy in their beds would love Nectar’s foams, while people who want a lighter cradle, whilst keeping to the surface should opt for the DreamCloud. People who sleep in a combination of positions throughout the night may also benefit more from DreamCloud’s responsive materials. Both dissipate heat, as a result of their gel components, so hot sleepers will enjoy the breathability of both mattresses as well.

DreamCloud VS Casper Dreamcloud Vs Purple 2

Construction

Much like the Nectar, Casper is an all-foam mattress. At just 10 inches, Casper is made of 4 inches of a mixed range of foams. The 1st 3 layers are equally 1.5 inches thick. Its top layer is a bouncy, perforated poly foam which they refer to as “open cell,” which increases breathability. The next layer has the memory material that offers compression and pressure relief. The last 2 layers are poly foams of increasing density toward the bottom, giving the mattress a base and stability.

Comparison

Though made of different materials and constructed quite differently, both possess a medium firm feel, with Casper on the firmer end of the scale. It follows that Casper provides a feels more supportive when lying on the trunk, but the DreamCloud provides better stress relief for both back and side sleepers.

Though both mattresses are springy, the DreamCloud especially returns to its shape quicker than Casper. This same characteristic, with the inclusion of DreamCloud’s coils, make it easier for combination sleepers to move about at night. Despite Casper’s design for a breathable top foam, DreamCloud wicks the heat better, which can be attributed to its gel cooling technologies.

Prices and Perks

Casper’s prices range from $595-$1295, while DreamCloud starts at $899 for the Twin and up to $1599 for the California King. Casper includes a free trial of 100 days, while DreamCloud offers a full 365 days. Respectively, the former offers a 10-year warranty, while the latter promises a lifetime.

Key Takeaways

DreamCloud is the obvious winner between these two, in terms of luxury and comfort. However, their price gap is also notable, so depending upon your budget, Casper’s not a bad option.

Recommendations Dreamcloud Vs Purple 2

Buying a mattress isn’t something which can be done on a whim; it’s a very important decision. There are plenty of things to consider, and most important are your personal preferences and needs. In fact, a long and healthy life depends on it. The amount of money that goes into these is no small thing, so review and discern before making a decision. You’ll sleep better at night.
