DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

Dreamcloud-Review

Purchasing beds and mattresses used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on different kinds for feel, comfort, support, and everything else which could offer a fantastic night’s sleep. Sadly, as I’m sure many of us have experienced, even those steps aren’t guarantees, because no amount of short-term testing can adequately replicate the lives we live on our beds. Apart from spending a third of our days in that area, there is also the issue of sharing beds with our spouses, kids, and pets; there is sleeping, but also playing, cradling, studying, mothers feeding, etc.

For many decades, the really good mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you did not have the budget for it, you were stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress which eventually made you toss and turn at night or gave back pains. I know, because this was my issue, and before the era of “it’s all on the internet,” there just were not that many alternatives. Given what was available, I did not have anyone to vouch for each brand’s quality .

Now, the game has completely changed with the addition of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered directly to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name alone doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud Mattress DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

DreamCloud has existed for some decades, but their 2019 product is what caught my attention. It’s a hybrid that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all the things which make luxury beds — but at a reasonable budget, vacuum-packed into a box and sent straight to your houses.

Components

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a specific purpose, so I’ll get into detail below.

Cover

The whole mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It’s soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless type of pillow-top that gives a cleaner look; but also serves to prevent shifting or losing its original shape like a traditional pillow top. The memory filling is quite dense, making it more durable than its obsolete counterpart. This outer top layer makes up 1.5 inches of the composition.

Memory Gel

The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam which allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This constitutes another 1.5 inches of the mattress.

Body contouring gives the feeling of “sinking” into the mattress, which I have mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which really helps in keeping cool on the mattress. For those who, like me, tend to sleep hot in the course of the night, this is vital. The combination of the ventilated cover and the cooling gel makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

Poly Foam

The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing support and body to the mattress. This is especially important for heavier people, to keep from sinking completely into the bed. The medium firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly leads to body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also acts as a separator for the coils underneath.

Pocketed Coils

Under the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to change positions without difficulty and not feel “stuck.” Their individual pockets make it so they can move independently, reducing movement transfer, which is a consideration for people who share beds. In exactly the same vein, the coils are braced round the edges, strengthening the perimeter of this bed and maximizing the whole space without collapsing. The coils constitute more than half of the mattress’s makeup at 8 inches.

Base Foam

At the very base of the mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the foundation.

Ratings by Feature DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

Now that we know what is in a DreamCloud, let’s see how all its elements combine in some of the attributes we look for in a bed. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to discussions on stability, mobility, pressure relief, edge support, and movement transfer, because these features are determined by the person’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal evaluations, please note that I weigh about 120 pounds, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.

Firmness — 5 out of 5

I start with this because I have lower back problems, which were mostly due to my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to observe that the bed had sagged considerably in the middle section, and I was sleeping with poor skeletal support.

The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of comfort and support that I am searching for. It’s firm enough to ensure that my spine is not compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I adore.

I reiterate that if you are bigger and heavier than I am, it is possible that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5

Among my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot during the night. I’m a combination sleeper and change between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I tried to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this wasn’t a problem, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.

Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

Different body parts exert various amounts of pressure once we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the mattress, particularly for side sleepers. Being a hybrid , the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently relieve more pressure in comparison to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils provide the support for my lower back. When I’m on my side, it is comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle in the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I do not sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I tried it; so it may be the opposite in a sense that there was no pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I’m just not used to that position.

Edge Support — 4 out of 5

If you make full use of every inch of your mattress, you would want to do it without falling off its borders. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be quite good, but also noted that it was better when lying down instead of when sitting on the edge, which may be due to the better distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than in 1 spot.

Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5

Having coils, I was somewhat worried that my puppy and I would be bouncing around the mattress at every move we made during our sleep, disturbing the other. I was pleasantly impressed with how well the top layers cushioned and muffled our moves, even if my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs about 30 kg, so I’m not sure how this could translate to sharing a bed with another adult human, but I am pretty happy about this for my own needs.

Final Remarks and FAQ DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.

That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Here are some FAQs for those with particular concerns.

Who’d enjoy the DreamCloud?

I’m so happy with it, but like I specified: I mostly sleep on my back and side, and wouldn’t recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who often sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those persons who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a good alternative for its lavish Eurotop and memory substances that give the sensation of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I haven’t had any pains to report.

How do I set up the DreamCloud?

It’ll be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you are extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’re going to be using a frame or foundation, put the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you rip it open. You will not require box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the floor). Because of the coils, be prepared for some snap as it escapes its own container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adjust to its new space. That’s it!

What’s the price range?

Depending upon the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you are not in any hurry, you may want to await a discount, which they offer quite frequently on their website.

Is it a good investment? DreamCloud Mattress on Sale

For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my old fashioned mattress. I estimate I would have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a great investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it’s provided me in the last couple of weeks, it’s been more than worth the cost.
