DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

Dreamcloud-Review

Purchasing beds and mattresses used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on various kinds for feel, comfort, support, and everything else which could provide a fantastic night’s sleep. Sadly, as I’m sure many of us have experienced, even those measures aren’t guarantees, since no amount of short-term testing can adequately replicate the lives we live on our beds. Apart from spending a third of our days in that space, there is also the issue of sharing beds with our partners, kids, and pets; there’s sleeping, but also playing, cradling, studying, moms feeding, etc.

For several years, the really excellent mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you did not have the funds for it, you were stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress that eventually made you toss and turn at night or gave you back pains. I know, since this was my issue, and before the era of “it’s all on the internet,” there just weren’t that many options. Given what was available, I didn’t have anyone to vouch for each brand’s quality .

Now, the game has completely changed with the addition of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered directly to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud Mattress DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

DreamCloud has existed for some decades, but their 2019 product is what caught my attention. It’s a hybrid mattress that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all of the things that make luxury beds — but at an affordable budget, vacuum-packed into a box and sent straight to your homes.

Components

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a particular purpose, so I will get into detail below.

Cover

The entire mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It is soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless type of pillow-top that provides a cleaner look; but also functions to prevent shifting or losing its original shape like a traditional pillow top. The memory filling is quite compact, making it more durable than its obsolete counterpart. This outer top layer makes up 1.5 inches of the composition.

Memory Gel

The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam that allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This makes up another 1.5 inches of the mattress.

Body contouring gives the sensation of “sinking” into the bed, which I’ve mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which really helps in keeping cool on the mattress. For those who, like me, often sleep hot in the course of the night, this is vital. The combination of the ventilated cover along with the cooling makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

Poly Foam

The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing support and body to the mattress. This is especially important for heavier people, to keep from sinking entirely into the bed. The medium firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly causes body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils underneath.

Pocketed Coils

Underneath the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to shift positions without difficulty and not feel “stuck.” Their individual pockets make it so that they can react independently, reducing movement transfer, which is a consideration for people who share beds. In the same vein, the coils are braced round the edges, strengthening the perimeter of this bed and maximizing the entire space without collapsing. The coils make up more than half of the bed’s makeup at 8 inches.

Base Foam

At the very bottom of the mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the foundation.

Ratings by Feature DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

Now that we know what’s in a DreamCloud, let’s see how all its elements combine in some of the attributes we look for in a mattress. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to talks on stability, freedom, pressure relief, edge support, and motion transfer, because these features are determined by the individual’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal ratings, please note that I weigh about 120 lbs, and am a combination back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.

Firmness — 5 out of 5

I start with this because I have lower back problems, which have been largely caused by my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to notice that the mattress had sagged considerably in the middle section, and I had been sleeping with poor skeletal support.

The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of comfort and support that I’m searching for. It’s firm enough to make certain that my spine is not compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I adore.

I reiterate that if you’re larger and heavier than I am, it is possible that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5

One of my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot during the night. I am a combination sleeper and switch between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I tried to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this wasn’t a problem, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.

Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

Different body parts exert various amounts of pressure once we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the bed, especially for side sleepers. Being a hybrid mattress, the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently relieve more pressure compared to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils offer the support for my lower back. When I am on my side, it’s comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle into the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I don’t sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I attempted it; so it may be the reverse in a sense that there was no pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I’m simply not used to this position.

Edge Support — 4 out of 5

If you make full use of every inch of your bed, you’d want to do it without falling off its borders. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be quite good, but also noted that it was better when lying down rather than when sitting on the edge, which might be attributed to the better distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than in 1 spot.

Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5

Having coils, I was somewhat worried that my dog and I would be bouncing around the bed at every move we made during our sleep, disturbing the other. I was impressed by how well the top layers cushioned and muffled our moves, even if my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs about 30 kg, so I’m not sure how this could translate to sharing a bed with another adult individual, but I am pretty happy about this for my own needs.

Final Remarks and FAQ DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.

That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Below are some FAQs for those with particular concerns.

Who would enjoy the DreamCloud?

I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specified: I mostly sleep on my side and back, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who tend to sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a good alternative for its lavish Eurotop and memory materials that give the feeling of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I haven’t had any pains to report.

How do I install the DreamCloud?

It is going to be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you’re extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’ll be using a bed frame or base, put the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you tear it open. You will not need box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the flooring ). Due to the coils, be prepared for some snap when it escapes its own container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adjust to its new area. That’s it!

What’s the price range?

Depending on the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you’re not in any hurry, you may want to wait for a promo, which they offer quite frequently on their website.

Is it a great investment? DreamCloud Mattress Malaysia

For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my age-old mattress. I estimate I would have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a good investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it’s provided me in the last few weeks, it’s been more than worth the price.
