Dreamcloud-Review

Purchasing mattresses and beds used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on different kinds for feel, comfort, support, and everything else which could offer a fantastic night’s sleep. Sadly, as I’m sure many of us have experienced, even those measures aren’t guarantees, because no amount of short-term testing can adequately replicate the lives we live on our beds. Aside from spending a third of our days in that space, there’s also the issue of sharing beds with our spouses, kids, and pets; there’s sleeping, but also playing, cradling, studying, moms feeding, etc.

For several years, the really excellent mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you didn’t have the budget for it, you’re stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress which later made you toss and turn at night or gave you back pains. I know, since this was my problem, and before the era of “everything is on the internet,” there just weren’t that many options. Given what was available, I didn’t have anyone to vouch for each brand’s quality .

Now, the game has completely changed with the addition of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered directly to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name alone doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud has existed for some years, but their 2019 product is what caught my attention. It is a hybrid that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all of the things which make luxury beds — but at an affordable price range, vacuum-packed into a box and shipped straight to your houses.

Components

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a particular purpose, so I will get into detail below.

Cover

The entire mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It’s soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless sort of pillow-top that provides a cleaner look; but also functions to prevent shifting or changing its original shape like a traditional pillow top. The memory filling is quite dense, which makes it more durable than its obsolete counterpart. This outer top layer constitutes 1.5 inches of the composition.

Memory Gel

The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam that allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This constitutes another 1.5 inches of the mattress.

Body contouring gives the feeling of “sinking” into the bed, which I’ve mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which really helps in keeping cool on the bed. For those who, like me, often sleep hot in the course of the night, this is essential. The combination of the ventilated cover along with the cooling gel makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. DreamCloud Mattress Customer Service Number

Poly Foam

The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing body and support to the mattress. This is especially important for heavier people, to keep from sinking completely into the bed. The medium firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly leads to body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils beneath.

Pocketed Coils

Underneath the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to shift positions without difficulty and not feel “stuck.” Their individual pockets make it so they can react independently, reducing movement transfer, which is a consideration for those who share beds. In the same vein, the coils are braced around the borders, strengthening the perimeter of the bed and maximizing the whole space without collapsing. The coils make up more than half of the bed’s composition at 8 inches.

Base Foam

At the very bottom of the mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the base.

Ratings by Feature DreamCloud Mattress Customer Service Number

Now that we know what’s in a DreamCloud, let us see how all its components combine in a number of the attributes we look for in a bed. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to discussions on firmness, freedom, pressure relief, edge support, and movement transfer, since these features are determined by the person’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal ratings, please be aware that I weigh roughly 120 pounds, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.

Firmness — 5 out of 5

I start with this because I have lower back problems, which have been largely caused by my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to notice that the mattress had sagged considerably in the center section, and I had been sleeping with poor skeletal support.

The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of comfort and support that I am looking for. It’s firm enough to ensure that my spine isn’t compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I love.

I reiterate that if you’re larger and heavier than I am, it is likely that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5

Among my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot through the evening. I am a combination sleeper and switch between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I attempted to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this was not an issue, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.

Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 DreamCloud Mattress Customer Service Number

Different body parts exert different amounts of pressure when we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the bed, especially for side sleepers. Being a hybrid mattress, the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently alleviate more pressure in comparison to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils offer the support for my lower back. When I’m on my side, it is comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle in the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I do not sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I attempted it; so it may be the opposite in a sense that there wasn’t any pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I am just not used to this position.

Edge Support — 4 out of 5

If you make full use of every inch of your bed, you would want to do it without rolling off its borders. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be rather good, but also noticed that it was better when lying down instead of when sitting on the edge, which might be due to the more even distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than in one spot.

Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5

Having coils, I was somewhat worried that my puppy and I would be bouncing around the bed at each move we each made throughout our sleep, disturbing the other. I was impressed by how well the top layers padded and muffled our movements, even when my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs about 30 kg, so I’m not sure how this could translate to sharing a bed with another adult individual, but I am pretty happy about this for my own needs.

Final Remarks and FAQ DreamCloud Mattress Customer Service Number

It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.

That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Here are some FAQs for those of you with particular concerns.

Who would enjoy the DreamCloud?

I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specified: I mostly sleep on my side and back, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who tend to sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those persons who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a fantastic alternative for its lavish Eurotop and memory substances that provide the feeling of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I have not had any pains to report.

How do I install the DreamCloud?

It’ll be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you are extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’ll be using a frame or base, place the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you tear it open. You will not need box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the floor). Because of the coils, be ready for some snap when it escapes its own container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adapt to its new area. That’s it!

What is the price range?

Depending on the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you’re not in any rush, you might want to wait for a discount, which they provide quite frequently on their website.

Is it a good investment? DreamCloud Mattress Customer Service Number

For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my age-old mattress. I estimate I would have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a great investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it has provided me in the past couple of weeks, it has been more than worth the price.
