Purchasing mattresses and beds used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on various models for feel, comfort, support, and everything else that could offer a good night’s sleep. Sadly, as I am sure many of us have experienced, even those measures are not guarantees, since no amount of short-term testing can satisfactorily replicate the lifestyles we live on our beds. Apart from spending a third of our days in that area, there is also the issue of sharing beds with our spouses, children, and pets; there’s sleeping, but also playing, cradling, studying, moms feeding, and so on.
For many decades, the really good mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you didn’t have the budget for it, you were stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress which later made you toss and turn at night or gave back pains. I know, because this was my problem, and before the era of “everything is on the world wide web,” there just weren’t that many alternatives. Given what was available, I did not have anyone to vouch for each brand’s quality either.
Now, the game has completely changed with the introduction of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered directly to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud has been around for some decades, but their 2019 product is what caught my attention. It is a hybrid mattress that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all the things which make luxury beds — but at an affordable budget, vacuum-packed into a box and shipped straight to your homes.

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a particular purpose, so I will get into detail below.
The whole mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It is soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless sort of pillow-top that gives a cleaner look; but also functions to prevent shifting or changing its original shape like a traditional pillow top. The memory filling is quite compact, which makes it more durable than its dated counterpart. This outer top layer makes up 1.5 inches of the composition.
The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam that allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This makes up another 1.5 inches of the mattress.
Body contouring gives the sensation of “sinking” into the bed, which I have mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which helps in keeping cool on the mattress. For those who, like me, often sleep hot in the course of the night, this is essential. The combination of the ventilated cover and the cooling gel makes a massive difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. DreamCloud Brands San Mateo Ca
The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing body and support to the mattress. This is particularly important for heavier people, to keep from sinking entirely into the bed. The medium firmness of the bed is attributable to the poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly causes body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils beneath.
Underneath the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to shift positions without difficulty and not feel “stuck.” Their unique pockets make it so they can move independently, reducing movement transfer, which is a consideration for people who share beds. In exactly the same vein, the coils are braced around the edges, strengthening the perimeter of the bed and maximizing the whole space without collapsing. The coils constitute more than half of the bed’s composition at 8 inches.
At the very bottom of this mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the foundation.
Ratings by Feature DreamCloud Brands San Mateo Ca
Now that we know what’s in a DreamCloud, let us see how all its components combine in some of the attributes we look for in a bed. Everyone will have a different experience when it comes to discussions on firmness, mobility, pressure relief, edge support, and movement transfer, because these features are determined by the individual’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal evaluations, please note that I weigh about 120 lbs, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.
Firmness — 5 out of 5
I start with this because I have lower back problems, which have been largely due to my previous bed of more than 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to observe that the bed had sagged considerably from the center section, and I was sleeping with poor skeletal support.
The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of support and comfort that I am searching for. It is firm enough to ensure that my spine isn’t compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I adore.
I reiterate that if you are larger and heavier than I am, it’s possible that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5
One of my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot through the evening. I’m a combination sleeper and change between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I tried to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this wasn’t an issue, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.
Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 DreamCloud Brands San Mateo Ca
Different body parts exert various amounts of pressure when we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the mattress, particularly for side sleepers. Being a hybrid , the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently relieve more pressure compared to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils offer the support for my lower back. When I’m on my side, it is comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle into the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I do not sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I attempted it; so it can be the opposite in a sense that there wasn’t any pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I’m just not used to that position.
Edge Support — 4 out of 5
Should you make full use of every inch of your mattress, you’d want to do it without falling off its borders. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be rather good, but also noticed that it was better when lying down instead of when sitting on the edge, which might be due to the more even distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than in one spot.
Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5
Having coils, I was somewhat worried that my puppy and I would be bouncing around the bed at every move we each made during our sleep, disturbing the other. I was pleasantly impressed with how well the top layers padded and muffled our moves, even when my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs about 30 kg, so I am not sure how this would translate to sharing a bed with another adult individual, but I’m pretty happy about this for my own needs.
Final Remarks and FAQ DreamCloud Brands San Mateo Ca
It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.
That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Here are some FAQs for those with particular concerns.
Who’d enjoy the DreamCloud?
I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specifiedI mostly sleep on my back and side, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who often sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those persons who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a good option for its plush Eurotop and memory materials that provide the feeling of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I haven’t had any pains to report.
How do I set up the DreamCloud?
It is going to be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you are extremely strong, you will need some assistance. If you’ll be using a frame or foundation, put the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you tear it open. You will not need box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the flooring ). Because of the coils, be prepared for some snap when it escapes its container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adapt to its new area. That’s it!
What’s the price range?
Based upon the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you’re not in any hurry, you might want to await a promo, which they offer quite frequently on their website.
Is it a good investment? DreamCloud Brands San Mateo Ca
For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my age-old mattress. I estimate I’d have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a great investment in my book. Besides, for the luxurious sleep it’s provided me in the last few weeks, it has been more than worth the price.
