Buying beds and mattresses used to be a tedious process of trial and error. First, one had to find the time to visit a physical store, and then spend hours laying, pressing, and bouncing on various kinds for feel, comfort, support, and everything else which could offer a good night’s sleep. Sadly, as I’m sure many people have experienced, even those measures are not guarantees, because no amount of short-term testing can satisfactorily replicate the lives we live on our beds. Aside from spending a third of our days in that space, there’s also the matter of sharing beds with our partners, kids, and pets; there’s sleeping, but also playing, cradling, studying, moms feeding, etc.
For many years, the really excellent mattresses cost an arm and a leg for the technologies used in their design. If you did not have the funds for it, you were stuck with your run-of-the-mill mattress that eventually made you toss and turn at night or gave back pains. I know, because this was my issue, and before the era of “everything is on the world wide web,” there just weren’t that many alternatives. Given what was available, I did not have anyone to vouch for each brand’s quality .
Now, the game has completely changed with the introduction of luxury beds-in-boxes, available online and delivered right to your doorstep. One such company that has risen in popularity is the DreamCloud Mattress, and if the name alone doesn’t entice you, allow me to break it down.

DreamCloud has been around for some years, but their 2019 product really caught my attention. It is a hybrid that combines memory technology, foam, and coils — all of the things which make luxury beds — but at an affordable price range, vacuum-packed into a box and sent straight to your houses.

The DreamCloud is a 15-inch, 2-toned mattress with 5 layers. Each layer serves a particular purpose, so I’ll get into detail below.
The entire mattress is covered in a blend of cashmere and polyester, giving it a plush and luxurious feel. It’s soft, breathable, and quilted with memory material. This makes it a EuroTop, a more seamless type of pillow-top that provides a cleaner look; but also functions to prevent shifting or changing its original shape like a conventional pillow top. The memory filling is quite compact, which makes it more durable than its dated counterpart. This outer top layer constitutes 1.5 inches of the composition.
The 2nd layer is a gel-infused memory foam that allows body contouring and provides pressure relief. This constitutes another 1.5 inches of the mattress.
Body contouring gives the feeling of “sinking” into the mattress, which I have mostly associated with 5-star hotel beds. The gel swirl dissipates heat, which helps in keeping cool on the mattress. For those who, like me, tend to sleep hot in the course of the night, this is vital. The combination of the ventilated cover along with the cooling makes a huge difference, and I don’t wake up sweaty before the crack of dawn. Does DreamCloud Mattress Have a Store
The layer underneath the gel foam is a slightly firmer foam, providing support and body to the mattress. This is especially important for heavier individuals, to keep from sinking entirely into the bed. The moderate firmness of the bed is attributable to this poly foam, counteracting sagging, which commonly leads to body pains. This 2.5-inch layer also serves as a separator for the coils underneath.
Underneath the high-density foam are individually wrapped coils. These modern versions of springs equip the mattress with mobility, allowing sleepers to shift positions without difficulty and not feel “stuck.” Their individual pockets make it so they can move independently, reducing movement transfer, which is a consideration for those who share beds. In the same vein, the coils are braced around the borders, strengthening the perimeter of the bed and maximizing the whole space without collapsing. The coils make up more than half of the mattress’s makeup at 8 inches.
At the very bottom of this mattress is 1.5 inches of firm foam. This serves to cushion the coils and act as the base.
Ratings by Feature Does DreamCloud Mattress Have a Store
Now that we know what is in a DreamCloud, let us see how all its elements combine in some of the features we look for in a mattress. Everybody will have a different experience when it comes to discussions on firmness, mobility, pressure relief, edge support, and motion transfer, since these features are dependent on the individual’s body weight, build, and sleeping preferences. To help understand my personal ratings, please be aware that I weigh roughly 120 lbs, and am a mix back and side sleeper, often favoring the latter.
Firmness — 5 out of 5
I start with this because I have lower back problems, which have been largely caused by my previous bed of over 1 decade. I didn’t take the time to notice that the bed had sagged considerably in the center section, and I had been sleeping with poor skeletal support.
The DreamCloud has medium firmness, which gives me the adequate balance of comfort and support that I am searching for. It’s firm enough to make certain that my spine is not compromised, and factoring in its Eurotop cover, gives me a nice “sinking into the bed” feel that I love.
I reiterate that if you’re bigger and heavier than I am, it is likely that the DreamCloud may feel softer, as your body sinks more significantly into the mattress.

Mobility — 5 out of 5
Among my sleeping habits is also repositioning a lot during the evening. I’m a combination sleeper and change between back and side sleeping. I’ve had beds that were too soft and static that made it feel like drowning when I attempted to move slightly. On the DreamCloud, this was not a problem, and I could reposition easily, aided by a mild bounce.
Stress Relief — 4 out of 5 Does DreamCloud Mattress Have a Store
Different body parts exert different amounts of pressure once we lay in bed. Hips and shoulders have more contact with the bed, particularly for side sleepers. Being a hybrid mattress, the Eurotop and memory materials allow some sinkage into its foam layers, and consequently alleviate more pressure in comparison to firmer alternatives. When sleeping on my back, I feel an even distribution of my weight, and the coils offer the support for my lower back. When I am on my side, it’s comfortable enough for my shoulders and hips to snuggle into the mattress whilst keeping my spine aligned. I do not sleep on my stomach much, but I felt like I sank too much when I attempted it; so it can be the opposite in a sense that there was no pressure to the point of sinkage. That, or I’m simply not used to this position.
Edge Support — 4 out of 5
Should you make full use of every inch of your bed, you would want to do it without falling off its edges. I found the DreamCloud’s stability to be quite good, but also noted that it was better when lying down instead of when sitting on the edge, which might be attributed to the more even distribution of my weight when spread across a larger area than at one spot.
Motion Transfer — 5 out of 5
Having coils, I was a tad worried that my dog and I’d be bouncing around the bed at each move we made throughout our sleep, disturbing the other. I was pleasantly impressed by how well the top layers padded and muffled our movements, even if my dog jumped on the bed while I was on it. My dog is a medium and weighs around 30 kg, so I am not sure how this would translate to sharing a bed with another adult individual, but I am pretty happy about this for my own needs.
Final Remarks and FAQ Does DreamCloud Mattress Have a Store
It is utterly important to choose the right bed to make sure you’ll be safe from back pains and get good quality sleep. If you want to live a long and healthy life, sleep has got to be a priority. You’ve just read my reviews on each of the features of DreamCloud, and I’d say that all in all, it is definitely a reliable brand.
That sums up my experience with my 1st ever hybrid bed-in-a-box. Below are some FAQs for those with particular concerns.
Who’d enjoy the DreamCloud?
I’m so satisfied with it, but like I specifiedI mostly sleep on my back and side, and would not recommend it for stomach sleepers. People who often sleep hot will also enjoy the gel-infused memory foam. For those persons who are fond of the luxury feel of excellent hotel beds, this is a good option for its plush Eurotop and memory substances that give the feeling of being cradled in clouds. Back support is wonderful, and I haven’t had any pains to report.
How do I set up the DreamCloud?
It’ll be delivered in a box, and is quite heavy; so unless you’re extremely strong, you’ll need some assistance. If you’ll be using a frame or base, put the vacuum-sealed mattress on it before you rip it open. You will not need box springs, but this fits most standard sizes; additionally, this can be used on any flat surface (even the flooring ). Due to the coils, be prepared for some snap as it escapes its container. Allow up to 48 hours for it to completely reshape and adjust to its new area. That’s it!
What is the price range?
Based upon the size, they range from $799 for a Twin up to $1,499 for a King or California King. If you’re not in any rush, you might want to wait for a promo, which they provide quite frequently on their website.
Is it a good investment? Does DreamCloud Mattress Have a Store
For me, it was definitely leaps and bounds better than my old fashioned mattress. I estimate I would have at least a decade with this one, so that counts as a great investment in my book. Besides, for the luxury sleep it’s provided me in the last few weeks, it has been more than worth the cost.
